Frequently asked questions
Do I need my landlord's PAN on the receipt?+
It's required by the Income Tax Department if your total annual rent exceeds ₹1,00,000. Below that, it's optional but still good practice to include if your landlord is willing to share it.
Does this receipt need a revenue stamp?+
For cash rent payments over ₹5,000 per receipt, a physical revenue stamp with the landlord's signature across it is typically required. This generator includes a note reminding you where to affix it — it can't add a physical stamp to a PDF.
Is a generated receipt as valid as one from my landlord?+
The receipt itself just needs accurate details and the landlord's signature to be valid — most landlords are happy to sign a clean, correctly-formatted receipt rather than write one by hand each month.
